Lumos Networks facilitates smooth expansion for sizeable law firm

As a leading fiber optic service provider, Lumos Networks is privileged to provide communication solutions that allow businesses to grow. A distinct illustration of how our fiber network has contributed to business expansion correlates with our largest law firm customer in Northern, WV during the opening of their Columbus, Ohio branch. Since 2009, Lumos Networks has been providing this customer Metro Ethernet and voice services to all of their locations within our footprint.

Ethernet Exchange via Lumos Networks provides law firm connectivity outside our footprint

When the law firm's new location opened in Columbus, Ohio, Lumos Networks was able to provide connectivity to their site because of our membership with the Equinix Ethernet Exchange. Equinix requires specific membership standards and allows for interconnectivity between service providers around the world. To connect this customer's West Virginia locations to the Columbus, Ohio office, we worked with another high standard service provider by ordering a 10 Meg circuit and effectively routing it between locations.

Team Lumos delivers an array of customer support

During the RFP process, it was important for our customer to have an escalation sheet with a list of Lumos team members from our Customer Care department all the way up to our VP of Operations. Our Sales Engineer, Steve Parkins, with years of network experience, served as a trusted advisor when designing a communications solution that would allow the customer's network to change as business needs grow.

"I have established a prompt standard for this customer in terms of call backs and a proactive status for troubles and issues," Butcher said. The law firm was impressed by the availability of a direct representative and the multiple points of contact for customer support. Before and after service implementation, excellent customer service was fundamental to developing a customer relationship based on trust.
