Data Center Connectivity

Need to reach a data center facility to add off-site computing space, connect to cloud services, or provide a Business Continuity Disaster Recovery (BCDR) solution? Lumos data center connectivity is the answer.

Premium Fiber Network

Our fiber network currently spans more than 20,000 fiber route miles across the Mid-atlantic and Southeastern United States.. We can serve any data center location in our footprint, whether it’s your private data center, a commercial data center, or one of Lumos’ own data center facilities.

We specialize in building high performance, secure, resilient connectivity to data center locations using our extensive suite of network services, which includes carrier Ethernet (MEF 2.0 certified), Dedicated Internet Access, Wavelengths, Private Lines, and Dark Fiber.

Our data center connections are fiber fed and take diverse network paths across our 100G backbone. And we assure the connections with robust Service Level Agreements (SLAs) providing up to “five 9s” availability.

The Lumos network is ready for your most demanding data center connectivity needs.

Lumos On-net Colocation Sites

Lumos has multiple colocation sites that are Tier 1 data centers, situated outside major metro areas in the mid-Atlantic. We offer more facilities in central and western Virginia than other data center providers because these locations are ideal for BCDR, being well removed from large cities in the region.

If your business is located close to one of our data centers, then the Lumos facility is perfect for expanding your IT space or staging a move to the cloud.

Commercial Data Centers

In addition to our own colocation sites and data centers, Lumos connects to 44 facilities offered by leading industry-recognized data center providers, giving you a broad range of sites to choose from on our network.  Among these facilities is Iron Mountain’s National Data Center, one of the most secure complexes in the world, which is served by Lumos’ 10G wavelength service.
