Lumos Networks, City Fire Department and WCHS/WVAH Eyewitness News to Distribute Free Smoke Detectors This Friday & Saturday

CHARLESTON, WV – Lumos Networks (NASDAQ: LMOS), a leading provider of fiber-based products across the Mid-Atlantic region will join The Charleston Fire Department and WCHS/WVAH Eyewitness News in distributing free smoke detectors this Friday and Saturday at WCHS/WVAH 1301 Piedmont Road in Charleston.

Distribution will take place on Friday, March 30, from 5:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., and Saturday March 31, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

"Several of our employees knew the families of those devastated by this tragic event,' said James Nester, Director of Public Affairs for Lumos Networks. "Though saddened by the recent events, we are honored to support the City Fire Department and WCHS/WVAH Eyewitness Newsin their'Never Again' campaign."

Firefighters will be on site to provide information related to the proper installation of detectors. Those who request or receive a detector will be asked to provide contact information to allow firefighters to follow up with recipients and ensure and assist in the proper installation of the devices.

Lumos Networks is providing an initial allotment of 1000 detectors to the City Fire Department for distribution scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. Donations to assist local fire departments by putting working smoke detectorsinto as many homes as possible will also be accepted.
