James Nester was appointed Vice President of Marketing and Public Affairs in March of 2016. He had previously served as Director of Marketing & Public Affairs since November of 2011. He has nearly two decades of experience in a variety of marketing & public affairs positions. From 2001-2011 Nester served as Vice President at Maple Creative, a full-service marketing firm in Charleston, WV. Among his many clients was nTelos Wireline. Prior to his departure from Maple, he guided nTelos Wireline through its transition to Lumos Networks including the development and introduction of the Lumos Networks brand. Jim has worked in a variety of verticals including healthcare, education, government, defense, transportation, utilities and professional sports. Nester also has extensive legislative, public affairs and economic development experience and has worked on a number of projects, and notable grassroots and political campaigns for various efforts and public officials. He was appointed by Governor Tomblin to the WV Broadband Deployment Council in 2012 and served on such until 2014. He has also taught in middle school, high school and college classrooms.
