Lumos Networks to Sponsor PGA Tour Player Scott Piercy

WAYNESBORO, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Lumos Networks Corp. (“Lumos Networks” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: LMOS), a leading fiber-based provider of data, voice and IP-based telecommunication services in the Mid-Atlantic region, today announced it will sponsor PGA Tour member Scott Piercy for the 2016 season. Elements of the sponsorship include Piercy wearing the Lumos logo at PGA Tour events this season, including this weekend at the Honda Classic at the PGA National Resort & Spa Champions Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

“We’re excited and proud to add Scott to our team of brand ambassadors,” said Joseph McCourt, Chief Revenue Officer for Lumos Networks. “His work ethic and sense of perseverance are qualities shared by our team, and are consistent with the core values of Lumos Networks. We look forward to seeing him shine on the tour this season.”

Since turning pro in 2001 after graduation from San Diego State University, Scott Piercy has enjoyed great success on the PGA Tour. Last season he had a career-best finish in the FedExCup (No. 22) and top-10 finishes (five), including his victory at the Barbasol Championship - the third win of his PGA TOUR career.

“I’m excited to partner Lumos Networks," said Piercy. “If you look at all that they’ve accomplished in the last year including their expansion to the Hampton Roads market, you get a real sense of their commitment to their customers and the building of world-class fiber networks. It’s obvious why they’re a leader in their industry. It’s exciting to have that support with me this season.”
